Building a design system with Claude

I've spent years designing inside a product design system used by millions of people.

This week I had the opportunity to build one from scratch, with Claude as my guide. 🕯️ And I'm nerding out. 🤓

The token setup works across iOS, Android, and web in three layers:
→ Raw values (primitives)
→ What they mean (semantic)
→ Where they live (component)

Then a surprise: without being asked, Claude flagged that my blue passed accessibility at AA but not AAA. I usually design for AA, but if a product ever needed AAA, it's great to catch that early.

I'm just starting, and I already have mad respect for the teams who build design systems every day. There’s so much thought behind every tiny detail. ❤️

Next up: dark mode. I'll share what I learn...
